【摘要】:Thistestmethodindicatestheabilityofarefractoryproducttowithstandthestressgeneratedbysuddenchangesintemperature.Becausetherecommendedfurnacetemperatureofthiscyclingtestis1200x00B0;C(2190x00B0;F),thistestmethodmaynotindicatetheabilityofarefractoryproducttowithstandcyclingathigherorlowertemperatures,especiallyiftheexistingmorphologyoftherefractoryproductchanges.Thistestmethodisusefulforresearchanddevelopment,aswellasforcomparingrefractoryproducts.Theprecisionshouldbeconsideredwhenusingthistestforspecificationpurposes.1.1Thistestmethodisusedfordeterminingthestrengthlossorreductionincontinuity,orboth,ofprism-shapedspecimenswhicharecutfromrefractorybrickorshapesandsubjectedtothermalcycling.1.2Thestrengthlossismeasuredbythedifferenceinmodulusofrupture(MOR)betweenuncycledspecimensandthespecimenssubjectedtothermalcycling.1.3Thereductioninstructuralcontinuityisestimatedbythedifferenceinsonicvelocitybeforeandafterthermalcycling.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
